The content of calcium carbonate powder (commonly known as lime powder) in PVC edge banding strips is high or low. Generally, PVC edge banding will contain calcium carbonate powder, but if the content of calcium carbonate powder is too high, the structure of PVC will become loose, which will seriously affect the quality of PVC edge banding. The problems caused by the high content of calcium carbonate powder are:

1. Folding white, that is, after the PVC edge band is bent in a small arc, whitening will occur in the playing edge part, and this whitening will not be restored after the PVC edge banding is straightened again. This phenomenon will be more obvious for darker ones.

2. Bumping edge, which is easy to produce bounce when trimming the edge of PVC edge banding. Of course, the reason for the edge jump is not only the high content of calcium carbonate powder. When doing edge banding, when the speed of the hot melt glue and the feeding speed of the edge banding are not well coordinated, the PVC edge banding will not be completely adhered to the board when trimming, so due to the PVC edge banding The floating phenomenon is prone to edge jumping.

3. The edge glossiness of the PVC edge banding strip after trimming and grinding is poor, so the appearance effect will be poor. In order to reduce the cost of the low-quality PVC edge banding on the market, the content of calcium carbonate powder is as high as 60% or more. As for the different equivalent products of the same brand, it is mainly the content of their calcium carbonate powder.

4. Cracking. Due to the high content of calcium carbonate, the PVC edge banding has no toughness and loose internal structure. It will crack if it is slightly exposed to external force, especially in the transportation at low temperature.
