PVC edge banding is made of polyvinyl chloride as the main material, and the appearance has traces of wood grain, marble, cloth grain, etc. The picture is bright and smooth, with the realistic and three-dimensional sense of wood. Edge banding is the most widely used in China, and it is mostly used for edge banding of panel furniture. At present, the edge banding with rich printing layers is mainly three-color printing, followed by two-color printing and single-color printing.
Advantages: light weight, easy processing, high cost performance, wide application range.
Disadvantages: The quality is unstable, the color difference is very obvious after trimming, and it is easy to age and break.
2.ABS Edge Banding Series
ABS resin is one of the most advanced materials in the world, with less additives added during processing and manufacturing, and has excellent performances of environmental protection, sustainability and recyclability. ABS edge banding has the advantages of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, fire prevention, moisture resistance, etc. It has good dimensional stability, strong impact resistance, and good gloss. The edge banding process can be mechanical or manual, and the requirements for adhesives are not high.
Advantages: After trimming, it looks translucent and smooth, and there will be no white edges.
Disadvantages: The production cost is high, and the price is about 1 times higher than that of PVC edge banding of the same design. It is often used in high-end panel furniture.
3. Solid wood veneer edge banding
The solid veneer can be processed into infinitely extended roll products with a thickness of 5mm and a width of 5-300mm, mainly used for veneer furniture. This type of edge banding will paste non-woven fabric on the back to increase the strength of the veneer and prevent the veneer from cracking. The length of one roll is about 200m, so it can be used continuously on the edge banding machine to improve work efficiency, trim the edge neatly, and solve all the shortcomings of single veneer edge banding.
Advantages: good edge banding effect, convenient and fast, high utilization rate, etc. It is suitable for mechanical edge banding of solid wood composite furniture and solid wood composite door components.
Disadvantages: the cost of raw materials is higher, and the cost of manufacturing process is higher.4. Aluminum alloy edge banding
The metal material has a unique sense of modernity, giving the product a perfect texture, low-key yet luxurious. Aluminum alloy edge banding will not produce cracks, is not easy to deform, has good scratch resistance, corrosion resistance and weather resistance, long service life, good flexibility, and is more environmentally friendly. It is often used for sealing wardrobes, cabinets, door panels, etc. The edge can better protect the corner position from bump damage.
Advantages: strong quality, not easy to deform, excellent sealing effect.
Disadvantages: The effect of matching with the wood grain finish of the board is poor, and it lacks the aesthetic feeling of design.
