1. More beautiful
After the edge banding of the board, the internal structure and material cannot be seen from the side, and the same color edge banding is generally used for edge banding. This overall uniform furniture is more beautiful in appearance.
2. The plate can be reinforced
Adhesive is also required between the edge strip and the board (adhesive is used for straight strips, but different for buckle strips). This method of reinforcement from the side makes it difficult for the board to be glued and cracked.
3. Prevent moisture intrusion
The result of the board being damp is deformation, glue opening, etc., which will affect the use of furniture. The edge banding can effectively prevent the board from getting damp, which is especially important in areas with high humidity in the south.
4. Prevent the release of harmful substances from the board
Plates with a lower environmental protection level release a large amount of formaldehyde, which can easily lead to excessive indoor formaldehyde. Sealing the edges of the boards can slow down the release of formaldehyde, but this kind of sealing measures can only treat the symptoms but not the root cause, so some more environmentally friendly boards have appeared in custom-made furniture.
